1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of the faith.”
Friday October 24-Sunday October 26
Have you ever heard someone say...
“I can’t believe in a book that is full of contradictions.”
“The Bible cannot be trusted because it was written a long time ago, and throughout history people have made changes to what was originally written.”
“Wasn’t it just a group of men in a council that arbitrarily chose what books to include in the Bible and what books to reject?”
“How can I know if the Bible is from God?”
If you’ve heard comments like these or have been in conversation with others who have similar questions and / or objections to the Bible, then we have an amazing opportunity for you to grow! As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to provide solid answers to those who have questions about our faith, and equip you to answer some of the tough questions people ask about the Bible. For this reason, we are excited to announce our first annual Apologetics Conference.
WHAT IS APOLOGETICS?
Contrary to how it sounds, apologetics is not about making an apology or apologizing for your faith. Apologetics simply means ‘to make a defense.’ A person who engages in apologetics is someone who gently and respectfully seeks to provide answers to questions about Christianity that come from critics, inquirers, skeptics, friends, and neighbors. Our hope is that in providing solid answers, people who do not know Christ, will have all the more reason to come to him.
This year our guest speaker will be Dr. Robert M. Bowman Jr, the President of the Institute for Religious Research, a Christian apologetics ministry based in Cedar Springs, Michigan. During his time with us, Dr. Bowman will share with us his expertise and equip us with the tools to answer the question Is the Bible Reliable?
